About

Toneisha - 30

This blog is a slightly haphazard holding space which focusses on the work I create. I use it to process thoughts and sharing is part of my practice. The blogs and the ideas within are relatively unedited and rough, on the understanding that I’m growing each day.

I’m a London-based writer, actor and performance maker. I have an MA in Archaeology and Anthropology from Oxford which absolutely informs the way I approach meaning-making, and, hold a Masters with distinction in Imaginative Practice from UEL, where I’ve been developing my experimental writing skills.

I am proud to have co-written the award-winning, landscape-changing book, The Good Immigrant. My writing, prose and poetry, has been published by Brain Mill Press, The Guardian, Transect Magazine, Toast, The Rising, Brautigan Free Press, Yauatcha Life and Ether Press. I have created and performed work at Dinefwr Literature Festival (Wales), The Anti-Slam (2016 champion, Oxford; 2014 runner up, London), Ambika P3, Tempting Failure Festival, Live Art Speed Date, Fanny Peculiar’s Hellfire Club,(London); Mary Bijou Cabaret (Cardiff),  Schloss Neuschweinsteiger (Berlin), and Avellana (Seville).
I founded and ran experimental theatre company saltpeter, and the international creative society The Brautigan Book Club (2010-2013). I was also resident artist at the Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club (2011-2013).
