I can’t actually list many feelings. And so many things I think I feel are actually judgements on others. I haven’t done a non violent communication course* but I’m interested in emotional literacy. Not least to make sense of my noisy head and heart. I’m not keen on making unhelpful art that comes from a defensive, angry, hurt place. Which where I am atm. *I didn’t like the idea of it until I heard it’s not about resolution but about connection. #nvc #nonviolentcommunication

Posted @withrepost • @askoota 【企画・編集した本が出ます】７月末に創元社から『よい移民』という本が出ます。イギリスの移民の子どもたちである、黒人やアジア系、東アジア系のクリエイター21人による、自分たちの体験を綴ったエッセイ集です。翻訳者は神戸大の栢木清吾さん。装丁は加藤賢一さんです。 2016年にイギリスでベストセラーになって８万部も売れた本。どうして話題になったかというと、クラウドファンディングで出版のための資金集めがされたのですが、あの『ハリーポッター』シリーズのJ・K・ローリングが、支援を表明したからなんです。また、海外文学で有名なゼイディー・スミスも推薦文を寄せています。この本を作ったのは、南アジアにルーツを持つ作家のニケシュ・シュクラ。日本で翻訳は出ていませんが、小説や、ヤングアダルト小説、映画の脚本、ラッパーと多彩な才能を持ち、『Time』の「次世代のアーティティストをつくる12人のリーダー」にも選ばれた一人で、期待の星です。イギリスで、黒人やアジア系の人たちによる本が少ないと思っていたシュクラが、「自分たちの物語を語る場がほしい」と思い立って作ったそうです。日本でも4月に入管法が改正されたことをきっかけに、「移民」と名のつく本がたくさん作られています。「是非」を論じる前に、もうすでにこの日本で人生を過ごしている人たちがいます。これからもその流れをとどめることは難しいと思います。そして、一旦来て、この地で生活を作った人たちや、作り始めている人たちを、簡単に「国へ帰れ」ということは難しいと思います。家族を伴って来た人、日本で家族を作った人たちの子どもたちにとってはすでに日本は故国です。でも今の日本は十分に彼らに自分たちが、受け入れられている、と思える場所でしょうか。わたしは2015年から2年間カナダに住みました。そのときに初めて自分が外国人という立場になって、外国で生活することの大変さを感じました。永住したり、そこで家族を作るなら、もっと大変なことがあると思います。そして日本に帰ってきたら逆に、「外国人を受け入れる」とか、「共生する」ことがどういうことかを考えるようになりました。人の立場になるということは難しいですが、『よい移民』に描かれた体験が、それらのことを考える手がかりになればうれしいです。 https://www.sogensha.co.jp/productlist/detail?id=3986 #よい移民 #創元社 #栢木清吾 #thegoodimmigrant #JKローリング #ゼイディースミス #ニケシュシュクラ
