Do we have to choose? Are all artists wedded to being ultra-serious? Doesn’t it take huge amounts of skill to execute comedy? If something is light and easy, sentimental or sweet, does it mean it’s not serious art?

Been talking to a few people about , including the lovely performance artist Greg Wohead (trailer of his new show below) about this, and have also been exploring it myself, particularly withing Stacy Makishi’s DIY9 workshops. DIY 9 is the Live Art Development Agency‘s fantastic scheme to bring artists together in a rather beautiful artist- and peer-led way.
