I am going to Greg’s show on Wed at Camden People’s Theatre (in a secret space within the building!). I love Greg Wohead’s work. For me, it is the best kind of work, whereby the recipient feels that they have been let into the secret, private, precious world of the artist because the artist believes in me, the audience – we have an unquestionable relationship – and wants to share the gift of themselves – ideas, hopes, joys, fears, heartbreak and passions – with me. I believe that this is an applicable demand from all work, whether it’s a performance of Macbeth, Heiner Muller, Wagner’s Ring, a performance art piece where the artist is cutting themselves and bleeding, or if someone is singing me a pop song.
